Cattle & Livestock

Cattle dogs and stock dogs working with sheep, goats, or other livestock are a top priority for the NLDR. It is important to track information beyond typical registration information on these dogs. The NLDR has added brand recording and inclusion on pedigrees for ranchers at no additional fee.

Please email videos of your Lacy dog working with livestock to lacydogregistry@gmail.com. Contact the NLDR if you have a Lacy cow-dog or are working other stock. We are interested in seeing your dog in action. The NLDR provides cattle-dog and stock-dog endorsements based on video evidence submitted. It is important to track and document these working dogs!

Wild Hog Hunting

Lacy hog dogs are a priority for the NLDR. Management and hunting of feral swine is a traditional use for Lacys, often categorized as Lacy Hog Dogs by the NLDR. This is a historic use for Lacys. Today the use for Lacys in hog hunting is still very common and growing. The NLDR is focused on supporting the Lacy Hog Dog hunters. Let us know what you need. The NLDR will record your achievements, standards, or whatever you need to advance Lacys in hog hunting.

Tracking

Game recovery and tracking of any method or target is the most significant area of growth for Lacy work. The NLDR is focused on tracking! Our pedigrees will show achievements, awards, and other. An NLDR Tracking-Dog pedigree endorsement can be obtained.

Retrieving & Bird Work

Basic, functional, field retrieving is a hunting use for many Lacys. The NLDR is interested in helping grow interest in the use of Lacys for this purpose. We provide NLDR Retriever pedigree endorsements.

Treeing & Trapping

There are many disciplines within the treeing and trapping category. A partial list is below and the NLDR will record any type of hunting and work in support of treeing and trapping.

  • Treeing Varmints – raccoons, squirrels, and other varmints
  • Trapping – Running trap lines, etc.
  • Bear Hunting & Hazing
  • Coyote Decoying
  • Wildcat Treeing & Baying

Fowl Management

Protection and penning of chickens and ducks is a common use for Lacys.
